What should be used up first, candles or battery operated lighting?
I was thinking about hurricane Irene headed along the east coast and was wondering .... when faced with a power outage which resources (provided you have both to spare) SHOULD be used first.
Should battery operated devices be used up first and then (if needed) switch to the candle and matches or vice versa?
Just curious. 
It doesn't matter, because the batteries and the candles will last for a finite amount of time, and you will run out of lighting at the same time whether you start with candles or flashlights.
