Burnt my hand with my candle lighter - help!!!?
I can feel it blistering and little white thingys like skin is popping up on it - i have ice, it hurts to it D:
how bad is the burn? run cold water over the area. do not use any lotions or creams with oil in them, as the oil will hold in heat and potentially worsen the burn. if you use anything, use Aloe. do not scratch or rub the affected area.
depending on how bad it is, you may be able to let it heal on its own.
EDIT:
do NOT use ice! it can further damage the tissue by causing another burn. the skin is forming blisters, that is why it is popping up. do not open/pop the blisters. allowing them to heal on their own will lessen scarring and decrease the risk of infection. if your burn is open, do not put any type of dressing on it, which could stick and re-open the skin when it is removed.
